
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young; February 19, 1970)[1she is an American actor, producer, and performer, most well-known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, Critics' choice Television awarded her the Best Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. Additionally, she was an actor in the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young's career in acting began with theatre. In 1997, she made her Broadway debut as Mary in the initial The Life cast. The Life. As well as making her Broadway debut, she has performed off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). In the early 2000s she was invited to guest-star parts on various television comedies and dramas such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young was a part of more than 30 TV shows from the years 2000 to 2011.
