Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. Over 20 albums have been released by her. Her music is classified as folk-rock and alternative rock but has additional influence from hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first artist to launch her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother was born in Montreal as is her father, who is Italian descent. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. This track appears in the soundtrack to the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was reported that she was planning to hold an event for three days at the Louisiana slave plantation. It was cancelled however many (including this piece) did not show any remorse. DiFranco offered an apology a couple of weeks following. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many different genres and artists including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer hails from New Orleans. DiFranco was enrolled in Buffalo State College when she was sixteen aged. She graduated in the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts when she was just 16 years old.
